Where do you stand right now?

A timed, twenty-question test run like the real thing: a countdown, a question palette and mark for review. Then a report on your starting point and a sensible first week.

20 subjects

One question from each area of the syllabus, so you see the whole map and not just the subjects you like.

25 minutes, timed

A live countdown with auto-submit, so it feels like sitting a paper, not browsing a quiz.

Real test controls

Palette, mark for review, change any answer. No feedback until the end.

A report, not a score

Stage breakdown, pacing, subjects to look at, a first-week plan, and the reasoning behind every option.

Questions are NextPrep's own, written for practice and pending expert review. Progress is saved on this device. Not affiliated with any examination authority.

Common questions

How long is it and what does it cost?

Twenty questions, one from each subject, about 25 minutes. It is free and needs no sign-up or card.

Will it predict my rank?

No. Twenty questions are far too few to predict anything. It gives an honest read on your starting point and a sensible first step.

Can I retake it?

Yes, after a few weeks. Your last report is kept on your device.

Are the explanations free too?

Yes. After you submit, you can read why each option is right or wrong, for every question.

What does the report show?

How you did overall and by subject, with the number of questions behind each figure, a first-week plan and the reasoning for every option. With so few questions per subject, read it as a starting point and not a verdict.

Is it the same twenty questions for everyone?

Yes. It is a fixed set, so results are comparable when you retake it later. The questions are original NextPrep practice items and not from any real paper.

Does it look like the real exam?

It uses a computer-based test layout with a timer and a question palette, which is a similar way of working. The real paper's length and marking are set by NBEMS, so confirm them in the bulletin.

Do I need an account to take it?

No. You can start straight away. Your result is kept in your browser on this device.

Can I print or share my report?

The report can be printed, and there is a way to share a summary. Share only what you are comfortable with, since it describes your own answers.

Does the assessment count towards my free daily questions?

No. The assessment and timed tests do not count towards the 20 practice questions a day on the free plan.

Is it enough to plan my whole preparation?

No. It is a snapshot. As you practise more, the performance screen gives a more reliable picture, and we do not call a subject strong or weak on fewer than five attempts.
