Practise the way you will sit it.
A long paper is a skill of its own: pacing, stamina, deciding when to move on. Timed tests give you the layout, the clock and the discipline, and a review afterwards that tells you what to fix.
What makes it different
Three kinds of test
Subject tests for one subject, stage tests that cover a stage of the syllabus, and grand mocks that mix subjects at paper length.
A real test layout
A live countdown, a question palette showing answered, not answered, marked for review and not visited, and an automatic submit when time runs out.
A review that teaches
Your report breaks the paper down by subject, and every question opens with the explanation for each option so a mock becomes a study session.
How it works
4 steps, in order.
- 1
Pick a test
Open Tests and choose a subject test, a stage test or a grand mock. Each shows its length and time before you start.
- 2
Read the instructions
A short instructions screen explains the palette, marking and navigation. There is no footer or distraction once you start.
- 3
Sit the paper
Answer, clear, mark for review and move around freely. If you need to stop, End test lets you submit and see your report, or leave without scoring.
- 4
Review and plan
Read your subject breakdown, open the questions you missed, and decide the next step. A good mock is followed by a day of review.

Honest limits
- Marking in NextPrep tests is a practice scheme of +4 for a correct answer and -1 for a wrong one. This is not an estimate of an examination score or rank.
- The real paper's pattern and marking are set by the examination authorities and can change. Check the official notice and the exam pattern page.
- Tests are built from NextPrep's original questions, so they do not predict what will appear.

Common questions
What kinds of timed test are there?
Subject tests for one subject, stage tests covering a stage of the syllabus, grand mocks that mix all 20 subjects at paper length, and FMGE-style and INI-CET-style mock series. All are NextPrep practice papers.
How long is a grand mock?
Up to 180 questions, fewer if the bank is not yet large enough for a full paper, with a time allowance set to match. Stage tests are capped at 120 questions.
How are tests marked?
Practice marking gives +4 for a correct answer and -1 for a wrong one. It is a practice scheme, not an estimate of an examination score or rank. Check the official notice for the real scheme.
What does the question palette show?
Which questions are answered, not answered, marked for review and not visited, so you can move around and plan your last minutes.
What happens when time runs out?
The test submits automatically and you go to your report.
What does End test do?
It lets you submit and see your report, leave without scoring, or keep working. It is there so you are never stuck on a phone with only a Submit button.
Which tests are free?
The Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry subject tests. Stage tests and grand mocks come with a paid term.
How many grand mocks does each term include?
Grand mocks open as follows: 1 with 6 weeks, 2 with 3 months, and all of them with 6 months or 9 months. 6 and 9 months also include tests released during the term.
Can I review my answers afterwards?
Yes. Your report breaks the paper down by subject and every question opens with the explanation for each option.
Will a mock predict my real score?
No. Mocks are built from original NextPrep questions and cannot predict what will appear or how you will score.
