Flashcards and mnemonics: questions and answers

What are the Review, Learn new cards and Cram modes?

Review is today's queue: cards due plus a small number of new ones. Learn new cards takes up to 20 cards you have not seen yet. Cram goes through a deck in shuffled order without touching your schedule.

Does Cram change my schedule?

No. In Cram mode ratings are not saved to the schedule and the screen says so. It is useful for a quick pass the night before without disturbing intervals you have built.

How do I turn the card over?

Tap the card, press space or Enter, or use the Show answer button.

How do I rate a card?

After the answer shows, tap Again, Hard, Good or Easy, which also shows the time until the card returns. On a touch screen you can swipe left for Again, right for Good and up for Easy. On a keyboard use keys 1 to 4.

What does each rating do?

Again brings the card back in about ten minutes and may show it once more this session. Hard brings it back sooner than Good, and Easy pushes it furthest. The buttons show the next interval for that card before you choose.

Can I undo a rating?

Yes. Use the Undo button, or press Z or Backspace. It restores the card's earlier schedule, though in Cram mode there was no schedule change to undo.

How many new cards do I get a day?

Up to 10 new cards a day in the main Review, so that reviews do not pile up. When you review a single subject's deck the session can include up to 20 cards.

What happens at the end of a session?

A summary shows how many cards you did, how long it took and the count for each rating. You can go back to the decks, or go again on the cards you rated Again or Hard.

How do I change haptics and sound?

In Settings, switch Haptics and Sound effects on or off. Haptics give a light tap on phones that support it when you flip a card or answer, and sounds are off by default.

Which decks are free?

Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry on the free plan. Other decks show a lock and open with any paid term. Cards you have already learned stay on your device.

Where is my card schedule stored?

In your browser on this device. Clearing site data erases it, and the download option in Settings gives you a copy of your card schedule.

How many cards should I do a day?

Do the cards that are due first. New cards are capped each day so reviews never pile up. Ten to twenty minutes a day beats a long weekly session.

What if I fall behind?

Nothing is lost. Due cards wait for you, and the app schedules them gently so one missed week doesn't become a wall.

Can I use mnemonics for everything?

No. Use them for short lists. For mechanisms and exceptions, understanding beats a memory aid, and each of our mnemonics lists where it stops working.

Which flashcard decks are free?

Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry on the free plan. Every deck opens on a paid term, and the pricing page lists what each plan includes.

Can I study the cards on these public pages?

These pages are for reading and previewing. Studying with spaced repetition happens in the app, where cards return on a schedule.

What do Again, Hard, Good and Easy mean?

They tell the app how well you recalled the card. Again and Hard bring it back sooner, and Good and Easy push it further out. You can swipe or use keys 1 to 4, and undo a rating you got wrong.

What is cram mode?

A way to run through a deck without changing your schedule. It suits a quick revision the night before, without disturbing the intervals you have built.

Are the cards checked by experts?

Not yet. They are original and drafted with AI assistance, then edited by our team. Independent review is planned, and each card carries a status label.

Why one idea per card?

A card that tests one fact is easier to rate honestly, so the schedule works better. Long cards with several facts hide what you actually forgot.

Where do I find mnemonics in the app?

Under Mnemonics in the side menu, and alongside the revision tools. You can search and filter by subject.

Which mnemonics are open on the free plan?

The first 5. A paid term opens all of them.

What does each mnemonic show?

What every part stands for, its clinical use, and where it stops being reliable.

Is a mnemonic locked behind a plan?

Locks say what is included and where to get it. Nothing is hidden or blurred, and nothing you have already read is taken away.

Are mnemonics reviewed by experts?

Not yet. They are teaching aids written or adapted by our team with AI assistance, and each carries a status label. Check important facts against a standard source.

Can I bookmark a mnemonic or add a note?

Bookmarks and notes are for questions. To revise a mnemonic's content as a card, use the flashcard decks.

Can I use mnemonics for exceptions and mechanisms?

It is better not to. Use them for short lists and learn mechanisms by understanding them.

Is my reading history saved?

Your activity is stored in your browser. There are no cloud accounts yet, so it stays on this device.

Do mnemonics really help for NEET PG?

They help with lists and sequences that have no logic to hang on, such as cranial nerve function. They do not replace understanding, and a mnemonic for a fact you could reason out is a distraction.

Why do you show the limits of each mnemonic?

Because every mnemonic simplifies. Knowing where it stops working keeps you from applying it where it misleads.

Where do the mnemonics come from?

They are teaching aids written or adapted by our team. Some resemble ones students share informally. Check any fact that matters against a standard source.

Are they reviewed by experts?

Not yet. Independent faculty review is planned, and each mnemonic carries a status label.

What does each mnemonic page show?

What every letter or part stands for, how it is used in the clinic and where it stops being reliable.

Which mnemonics are free?

5 in the app on the free plan, and all of them on a paid term. The public pages let you read what is published.

Can I search for a mnemonic?

Yes. In the app you can search and filter by subject. These public pages are organised by subject and topic.

Should I make my own mnemonics?

Often yes. A memory aid you build yourself tends to stick better. Test it against the facts, and note where it breaks.

Can I turn a mnemonic into a flashcard?

NextPrep does not do that automatically. You can revise the same ideas in the flashcard decks, where cards come back on a schedule.
