Sample itemA child who ate unripe ackee fruit has severe vomiting followed by convulsions and profound hypoglycaemia. Which toxin is responsible?
Original practice item, not a recalled exam question. Nothing here is recorded.
The answer and the reasoning
A. Hypoglycin A

Option by option
A. Hypoglycin A (correct)
Correct. Hypoglycin A from unripe ackee causes vomiting and hypoglycaemia.
B. Amygdalin
